Privacy: what data we store

Exactly what OpenedYet keeps about you and about your recipients.

We collect as little as we can to make read receipts work. Here’s the plain-English version; the full details are in our privacy policy.

About you (the sender)

  • Your name, email address and profile picture from Google sign-in. We never get access to your inbox.
  • For each tracked email: the subject, the recipients’ names and addresses, when it was sent, and Gmail’s ID for the conversation, so we can show ticks in the right place.
  • The web addresses of tracked links, so we can redirect clicks.
  • Your settings, plan and — if you pay — billing records from Stripe. We never see your full card number.

We do not store the body of your emails or your attachments.

About your recipients

  • When an email is opened or a link is clicked: the time, the browser or email-app identifier their software sends (used to work out the device type and email app), and possibly the country.
  • A one-way hash of the IP address, used only to spot repeated and automatic opens. We never store raw IP addresses.

What we never do

  • Sell or rent your data, or your recipients’ data.
  • Show ads or use tracking cookies on our website.
  • Read your emails.
