How link tracking works

See which links your recipients click, and how bot clicks are filtered.

With link tracking on, OpenedYet shows you which links in your email are clicked, how often and when.

How it works

When you send, OpenedYet replaces each web link in your email with a tracked version on openedyet.com. When someone clicks it, we record the click and send them straight on to the original page. Each tracked link is signed, so it can only ever lead to the page you linked to.

Which links are tracked

  • Web links starting with http:// or https:// are tracked.
  • Email-address (mailto:) and phone links are left untouched.
  • Links in emails with tracking turned off, or to recipients who opted out, aren’t changed.

Plan limits

Pro track links in every email. Other plans include link tracking in 10 emails a month. When you reach the limit, your emails are still tracked for opens until the next month starts.

Bot clicks

Many company email systems scan every link in incoming mail by visiting it. Those visits aren’t people. Clicks that arrive within a few seconds of sending, come from known security scanners, or only check the link without loading it are flagged as automatic and don’t trigger alerts.
